Horizons National is an award-winning, tuition-free, academic and enrichment program serving children from low-income communities on the campuses of independent schools, colleges, and universities across the country.
During Summer 2019, I worked as a co-teacher in the Rising 6th grade classroom. Our theme was "If I were an artist.."
Students learned about Street Art and went on a field trip to the Memorial Art Gallery to see an exhibition by the FUA ("fwah") Krew. Students also visited Verona Street Animal Shelter and created portraits in hopes of getting the animals adopted.
